Gold Street provides before- and after-school care for all students enrolled at the school. In addition, holiday programs are conducted four times per year for two weeks.

Mission

Our mission is to assist children to develop their learning and social skills. supplementing the programs offered at school. Children will be encouraged to work with others in creative, thoughtful, tolerant and productive ways, contributing responsibly to the world we share.

Vision

We see parents, staff and children working together to promote a learning and caring environment. Resources will assist students attain life skills, knowledge, values and attributes to become effective communicators, reflective thinkers and responsible citizens.

Before-school care

Breakfast Club

Available to all Gold Street students from 7:30am until 8:45am and based in the Kids' Club at the Organ Factory.

After-school care

Two forms of after school care are available both running from 3:30pm until 6:00pm.

Kids' Club

Kids' Club is a prep to grade six program available at the Organ Factory. The program offers a wide range of activities to cater to the multi-age mix, including a varied array of group games and sports, music/dance workshops, art, craft, circus, construction, cooking, sandpit, dramatic play and plenty of scope for the children to explore their own recreational interests. Each day a varied and nutritious afternoon tea is prepared, and the expert staffing team are trained to ensure each and every child has an enjoyable afterschool experience.

Study Group

Study Group is a grade four to grade six program conducted in the school library. This program provides an opportunity for students to complete homework requirements (where applicable), play chess, access the internet, read and research.

Holiday programs

Holiday programs are conducted every day during term breaks and also in the two full weeks prior to school commencement. A detailed calendar of events is available three to four weeks prior to the holiday period.

The Holiday Program operates from 7.30am-6.00pm and includes a variety of in-house and excursion-based activities. The last day of each program includes a trip to see a movie at our local Westgarth Theatre and an end-of-holiday party. Book early as spaces fill up fast!

Curriculum days

Child care is available on all days when the school holds curriculum days for curriculum development or reporting purposes (four days per year).
